Correct Answer: Option D(संसद द्वारा)
The decision to disqualify a convicted person from contesting elections was made by Parliament through legislation. Under Section 8(3) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 enacted by Parliament, a person convicted of an offence and sentenced to imprisonment for not less than two years is disqualified from contesting elections during imprisonment and for a further period of six years after release.
